Decontamination of basement rooms & undercrofts

WESTCROSS TO THE RESCUE Following on from the news we shared this week…

One of our teams have commenced work on a domestic property in Poole Dorset. This work has had the HSE involvement for the planning of safe decontamination of basement rooms/ undercrofts where asbestos lagging was removed/disturbed by plumbers carrying out upgrade works.

Unfortunately for the home owners, their store rooms have been restricted access since the asbestos was discovered leaving them without access to their possessions.

⚠This is the importance of having an asbestos survey completed before any works commence on site.

It is also extremely frustrating knowing that two young plumbers were put in the position to remove lagging/insulation by their employer prior to any surveying or sampling carried out, something we will also touch base with on our post tomorrow….. Our scope of works this week was to safely decontaminate the clients possessions, removal of all sectional lagging insulation to the undercroft and clean all pipework ready for re-Insulation as planned 5 months ago…

Appreciation to our site team Billy (supervisor), Daniel, Matt, Michael and Charlie! We love to see them taking some time out at lunch to visit the local attractions.
